Early Chinese settlers in Bengal tweaked their style of cooking to appease Bengali palates. And in doing so, unconsciously created a new style of cooking — Tangra. Succulent, marinated chicken is cooked with tangy soy sauce, spicy green chillies, and fresh veggies. The hot mix is swaddled in a tortilla sheet to give you a wrap that's tangy and flavoursome.
Whole wheat wrap - 1
Chicken breast (cut in strips) - 100gms
Maida - 10gms
Cornflour - 10gms
Chilli Paste - 10gms
Tomato ketchup - 15ml
Light soy sauce - 0.5ml
Green chilli (sliced) - 2
Garlic (chopped) - 2
Onion (julienne) - 25gms
Bell peppers (julienne) - 25gms
1. Thaw and clean chicken breast, cut into strips. Marinate with salt, maida, cornflour and deep-fry the chicken in hot oil
2. Heat oil in a pan, saute garlic, onion, peppers. Add chilli paste, tomato ketchup, soy sauce. Toss fried chicken into the pan and mix well.
3. Heat burrito sheet on a hotplate, place chilli chicken mixture on the sheet, fold in from the sides and roll it into a tight wrap.
